PDO THREADLIFTS

The PDO Threadlift procedure will lift and smooth areas of the face, neck, chest, and body. It uses FDA Approved threads which include either a hypodermic needle or cannula preloaded with a PDO absorable suture that is a custom size and depth to give you your desired result. Every treatment area is different and will need a unique plan specific for you to give you the lift you desire.

What are PDO Threads?

PDO Threads are a synthetic absorbable surgical thread composed of the material, polydioxanone. PDO threads have been used extensively for decades by plastic, general, orthopedic, and cardiovascular surgeons for wound closure and reconstruction. Polydioanone is one of the safest material to be implanted in the face, neck, chest, or the body. Your skin and tissue will fully absorb the material with in 4-6 months. It does not leave any residual scar tissue, just new collagen I and III.

How do PDO Threads work?

PDO Threads are inserted under skin after being numbed with either a topical or injectable lidocaine. Depending on which threads you are using the tissue will stimulate a "selective inflammatory response" which creates new collagen to fill and lift the tissue.

Lifting Threads (Barbed): The barbs in the lifting threads will also snatch the tissue in a direction of rejuvenation for your sagging skin. The barbs lift and support the tissue and can be used for lifting the brow, cheeks, jawline, jowl, neck, breast, and more.

Filling Threads (Smooth/Twisted): The smoothing threads are used for "filling" an area similar to dermalfiller in acne scars, folds, lips, crepe skin, and similar.

Can Threads be combined with Botox, Fillers, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), or similar treatments?

Yes! PDO Threads can be easily combined with Botox and Dermalfillers like Restylane and Juvederm to give the most optimum results in facial rejuvenation. PRP can be added during a threadlift treatment to provide even more lifting and collagen stimulation due to the growth factors and stem cells in your own blood. Treatments like Microneedling or skin resurfacing can also be done at the same time as a threadlift if a patient wants to maximize their results and have a single downtime.

What is the downtime for PDO Threads?

The recovery for PDO Threads is very similar to dermalfiller injections. There are generally a few days of swelling following most PDO Threadlifts with a chance of bruising in the treatment area. The thread entry points will take a few days to fully seal close and can looked "puckered" until they are fully healed. We review full after care instructions in person after the treatment and written instruction with detailed information is emailed to you prior to your appointment.
